Today was a somewhat disappointing day for the Club Schoolboys as three of the seven teams on the field lost in their respective NECSL league matches.
Kieron Fletcher saw his 11Bs lose out at home to a very strong Parkvilla side despite a spirited display. The team showed a big improvement since last week. Brian McKeown was on target for Celtic. See team picture above. Click here for more pictures.
The 11As defeated beat Trim Town/Kilmessan 7-4 on the Longwood Road to continue their unbeaten start to the season. The scorers were James Cullen 3 & one each for Anthony Moran, Cian Nevin, Eoin O’Connor & Mark Kane (pen).
John Sweeney took the 12s to Kells and came home with three points after a fine 4-1 win. Neil Sweeney hit a hat trick & Jack Byrne also hit the target. The 12s are still unbeaten since the start of the season.
Two out two for Ron Metcdalfe’s 13As after their impressive 2-0 win over Bailieboro. Gareth White got both goals.
The 13Bs won 3-1 against Oldcastle thanks to strikes by Anthony Peppard, Glenn Flood & Fergus Mulryan. Well done to manager Brian Flood and his team!
The 14s suffered a surprise defeat at home to Bailieboro. Coasting 2-0 with ten minutes on the clock they suffered from a late rally by the visitors to lose 2-3. On target were Gavin Mullen & Lee Dixon.
John Marron travelled to Collon with his 15s to play Albion Rovers & ended up on the wrong end of a 0-4 defeat despite a good team display. Bob Magure was outstanding throughout.
