In their last home game of the summer season in Div 3 North of the DWSL the Club Ladies defeated visitors St. Brendan’s by a score of 2-1 this evening thanks to goals from Christine Watters & Avril McGowan. Both goals were scored in the first halef. Although they beat St. Brendan’s earlier in the season 6-0 in Dublin, they struggled for long periods and in truth were saved when the game was blown up early because of the fading light, having conceded a late goal. Playing for the entire game against 10 visitors they did not avail of their numerical advantage.

Kate Brady (pictured) enjoyed a fine game as did Janet McElroy & Denise Jackson in the centre of defence. Ann Marie Clancy impressed on the right wing after coming on as a sub.

Next Monday’s scheduled game away to Grove in Drogheda will not be played.

A meeting will be held shortly for all members of the Ladies Club to consider entry to a winter league.
