The Club Schoolboys launched their NECSL 2007/8 season this morning and turned in a number of top class performances in their various League games played home & away.

Pierre Fox hit no less than seven goals as the 11As defeated Parkvilla in Navan in Div 1. Peter Gavin added three and Cian Nevin & Eoin O’Connor weighed in with one each in an all round display that pleased manager Gerry Harte. The 11bs drew 2-2 away to Torro Utd. in Div 2. The marksmen were Liam Flethcher & Eamnonn McLoughlin.

Jack Byrne hit eight goals as the 12s won their first three Div 1 points when they beat Enfield at Tully Park by a score of 15-0 to leave manager John Sweeney very happy. Scorers – Jack Byrne 8, Stephen Moroney 2, Conor Burke 2 and Niel Sweeney, Cian Shanley & Chris O’Gara with 1 each.

Ron Metcalfe’s 13s came away from Athboy with a very satisfactory 3-2 win to start their Div 1 campaign. Scorers – Jack Reilly 2 & Gareth White.

In the U14 Div 1 Nick Nally’s lads took a 3-0 lead against Athboy in Athboy and survived a fine fight back by the home side to win 3-2. On target were Karl Reilly, Robert Sweeny (penalty) & Donal Callan with his first goal for the Club.

Shay Lee’s 16s played a very satisfactory 1-1 draw in Kells in Div 1, with Michael Reilly on target with an equaliser.

The only defeat of the day came when the 15s lost out 0-2 to visitors Kells at Tully Park in their first outing in Div 1 after last season’s promotion.

Well done to everyone!
