Under new Manager Damien Dempsey, the Club Senior Team got their MDL 2007/8 season off to a winning start when the saw off the challenge of visitors Carrick Rovers by a score of 3-1 in an entertaining and sporting contest at Tully Park this afternoon. The game which played out in summer sunshine, saw a return to action of many of the side that landed the League title last May and although short several key players including  Michael Corrigan, they did enough to deserve the three points.

Noel Payne¬†was on target and in addition Celtic benefited from two OG’s. Danny Quinn rolled back the years in midfield and David Conway lead the line in excellent fashion but it was Cyril Halton who caught the eye at the centre of the defence with another top class display.
