In a tense & exciting game that seldom however lived up to it’s billing, the Club’s Seniors defeated Slane Wanderers 1-0 in their rescheduled MDL Premier Division game in Slane last night. Hero of the game was Colm Harte who struck the only goal of the game with barely 10 minutes left on the clock after which Celtic held out to bring the title race right down to the wire. The result puts Trim top of the league with only one game each to be played by the contenders. Next Sunday will see the Seniors entertain third place Rock Celtic and at the same time second place Square utd. travel to play Albion Rovers.

The task facing the Seniors is now very clear. A win on on Sunday will secure the title for the Club for the first time. A draw will be enough if Square fail to win against Albion.

Team manager Alan Kirwan has called on all Celtic fans to come out to Tully Park for the big game on Sunday which kicks off at 2.30pm. ‘Sideline support could mean an extra man for us as we seek to bring the MDL Premier Division title to Trim for the first time ever, in this our 40th anniversary year’, said Alan this  morning.
