The Club Seniors defeated visitors Glenmuir today at Tully Park thanks to two goals by Derek Donohoe thus keeping the pressure on Rock celtic and Square Utd. as all three teams enter the final straight in the run in to the MDL Premier Division League title.

Alan Kirwan’s team bounced back well after last week’s elimination by Rock Celtic in the semit final of the Challenge Cup and the news that Square Utd, had been beated at home by Albion Rovers was certainly very welcome. Hopes are high that the long season’s work will be rewarded after the final phase of games.

Remaining fixtures:

Celtic have six games left. They have 36 points from 16 games. They are home to Navan Cosmos, Rock Celtic & Slane Wanderers and away to Slane Wanderers, Torro Utd. & Albion Rovers.

Square have five games remaining. They have 40 points from 17 games and will play home games against Ardee Celtic, Dromin Utd. & Rock Celtic. They must travel to play Glenmuir & Albion Rovers.

Rock Celtic have four games left. They have 46 point from 18 games. They will entertain Carrick Rovers and they will visit Trim Celtic, Square Utd. & Albion Rovers.

The task ahead is very simple – if Rock & Square draw when they meet in Ardee and Celtic win all their remaining games then the title will come to Trim.
