The Club’s last interest in this years SFAI National Cups came to an end this afternoon at the MDL Ground in Navan when Shay Lee’s boys succumbed to a stronger Ferrybank side from Waterford despite a gallant effort. Celtic might feel a bit aggrieved at seeing what appeared to have been a perfectly legal goal by Colm Smith ruled out out by the referee which would have brought them back into the contest but it was not to be. To Shay, Brendan and all of the boys we say well done on flying the flag so long – not too many teams are still playing in the National Cups in March.

The U16s ran out very comfortable winners against Kells at Tully Park to go top of the NECSL Division 2 League with only the showdown against Athboy yet to be played – at home also. On target were Adam Whelan with a hat-trick (above), Donal Loughlin who hit a brace & Darragh Kennedy in a 6-0 win. What a great season it has turned out to be for Michael Loughlin & Paddy Kennedy (pictured). They will now be hoping to repeat the result of a month ago when they beat Athboy in the Challange Cup. The whiff of silverware is in the air! To see more pictures click here.
