Only three of the Club’s scheduled schoolboy games were played today but good to report three more wins in the bag for Celtic teams in the hunt for silverware this season.

Unfortunately two games were conceded by the opposition who were unable to field – Trim Town at U14 and Navan Town at U12.

Pride of place goes to Shay Lee’s U15s who defeated St. Columban’s of the NDSL in their SFAI Cup match by a score of 3-1. The game was played at the MDL Grounds because of a clash with the U14 home game against Trim Town (which was not played). On target were James Allen, Darren Osborne & Colm Smith. Next up are Evergreen from Kilkenny.

The U13s enjoyed a facile NECSL Div 1 League win over visitors Parkvilla at Tully Park. Rian Wogan hit a hat trick, Joan Lehmann got two and Kark Reilly, David Harmon, Jack Reilly & Robert Sweeney hit one each. The game was played out in very misty conditions – see picture below.

The U16s finally enjoyed the taste of victory over Newtown Utd whom they soundly defeated by a score of 6-0 at Tully Park to collect three more NECSL Div 2 League points. Donal Loughlin (pictured below) hit 2 as did Adam Whelan and Eoin Hanson & Stephen Moriarty completed the scoring.
