Although it still only early February, the Club’s first trophy of the season in the NECSL may be won tomorrow when the U11s travel to play Johnstown for the three league points that will clinch the title. This would be a great achievement for the group in only its first season of football on grass at eleven-a-side, with two games still to play after tomorow. Unbeaten in the League so far under the management of John Sweeney and Mark Farrell the team has scored 43 goals in total whilst conceding only 5.
‘The benefit of the Club’s committment to the NECSL Sevens can now be clearly seen’, said Club Chairman Robert Bradley this week. ‘We have taken part in the local Sevens competitions since the start and it has proven to be a great benefit to the youngsters in learning the basics of the game.’
We wish them the very best of luck tomorrow.
