The Club’s under 13 team took on visitors Dungloe from Donegal this afternoon for a place in the last sixteen of this year’s SFAI Cup and sad to report it was the vistors who triumphed in a game played in perfect conditions at Tully Park. Despite significant physical advantage the Donegal boys were unable to convert any of the chances that they set up in the first half thanks to a stern display by the local boys. However the visitors found their shooting boots one minute after the break and added a second 15 minutes later (pictured below) to seal the tie. Despite the scoreline Celtic’s 13s impressed with a skillful and courageous performance but in the end it was the physical superiority that won the day for the opposition.
The good news for the U13s today was that rivals Kentstown dropped two more league points in the battle for NECSL Division 1 honours.
