Three wins and a draw from four games played was a very satisfactory day’s work by the Club’s Schoolboy sides in their NECSL Leagues.
The 16s travelled to Newtown and came home with a point after a 2-2 draw. David Tobin and Adam Whelan were the marksmen but Manager Michael Loughlin was disappointed to see two goals conceded from free kicks.
The 15s were away to Torro and won 3-1 thanks to goals from Diarmuid Higgins & Darren Osborne who hit two. Shay Lee said afterwards that he was delighted to bounce back to winning ways after the recent defeat by Kells. Well done lads.
The 14s were also away this morning and emerged victorious in their tussle with Kells by a scoreline of 4-0. On target were Conor Smith, Bob Maguire & Ian Keogh (2). Unbeaten after 10 League games, the management team of John Marron & Brendan McGrenra will be hoping to see the excellent run by their team continue as they enter the second half of the programme. Today’s game was played for 6 points in order to relieve fixture congestion in the weeks ahead.
Today’s U11 and U12 games scheduled for Tully Park this morning were both cancelled because of the early morning frozen pitch. The U11s need one more win to wrap up their League title.
