Ladies Lose to St. Mochta’s

The Club Ladies were beaten 3-1 by visitors St. Mochta’s at Tully park this evening despite a fine performance all round. They trailed 0-1 at the break thanks to an own goal from the foot of Louise Hayes and although the same player converted a fine long range direct free kick a few minutes into the second half, they were unable to take the initiative and conceded two further goals.

Statto’s Corner - Goal Machine

Goal Machine

This season the Senior team won the MDL Premier Division for the first time in their history. To win a league takes a huge team effort, as the saying goes no one man is bigger than the team”. To win games you need goals and this season one man provided them regularly and many of them.

What a Feeling!

Paul Gilsenan’s second goal today - the one that calmed so many nerves in Tully Park, was greeted by an outburst of wild celebrations by all of the Celtic supporters present. What were his feelings as he turned to accept the appreciation of the home fans?
Club Secretary Des Clancy remembers Paul celebrating similarly on many occasions in the past when he scored for the Club’s schoolboys. ‘Paul played from a very young age and always had a great eye for a goal. He was a superb finisher and hit the net so regularly at every age level and this year is no exception. His efforts as leading scorer for the Seniors this season have contributed so much.’
