The Club’s latest visit to Etrepagny is nearing the end after a week of activities laid on by the host football club – USE Football, in Normandy.
After an Official Reception on Tuesday morning the party played football in the afternoon & attended a party with the host families that evening. On Wednesday a free day was spent by all with the host families & in the evening a disco was organised for the boys. Thursday morning was spent swimming & the afternoon was spent competing in a football tournament in the local stadium – mixed teams of French & Irish boys. Yesterday the entire group went to the city of Rouen to enjoy some sightseeing, shopping & karting (Nick Nally was the fastest adult & Gavin Mullen the fastest player). This afternoon the main business of the visit will take place in the stadium when the respective teams go head to head in the latest Test Match to decide who takes home the trophy. Etrepagny have won on the last two occasions but hopes are hight the Trim may win this game. Nick Nally & Ron Metcalfe have not yet announced their selection.
Tomorrow the long trip home for everyone after a busy & very enjoyable week.
