Best performance on the day came from Pascal Corrigan’s U10 Jets who played out a very creditable scoreless draw against the much more experienced Trim Celtic Eagles side managed by Peter Callaghan. This was the first ‘result’ for the Jets after several outings and it augers well for the future. A few new players will join the squad this week and hopes are high that the Jets will find their way into the ‘winners enclosure’ very soon. The Jets only played one game on Saturday.

The U10 Eagles also scored an impressive result in drawing 2-2 with the Club’s U10 Raptors in a most enjoyable game. On target for the Eagles was Cian Goodwin who scored both. Star man was goalkeeper Shane Callaghan who kept the Raptors at bay with a number of fine saves. For the Raptors Kyle Dixon & Pierre Fox were the marksmen. The Raptors also played Kells Pumas and emerged 8-0 winners. The scorers were Colin Fitzgerald, Ciaran Harte, Kyle Dixon, David Rennick and Pierre Fox with one each, Eoin O’Connor with 2 and Jack Byrne with a hat-trick. No results yet for the U10 Cubs.

The U9 Tigers won both their games on Saturday. They defeated Agher park 5-0 in their first game thanks to goals from Gareth Van der Westhuizen (2) and Fintan McLoughlin, Dean Egan & James McKeown with 1 each. Trim Town/Kilmessan were defeated by a score of 9-3. Eoin Sweeney hit 4, Dean Egan 2 and Gareth Van der Westhuizen, Daire Lynch & Colm Mulryan hit 1 each. Dan Fox saw his U9 Swifts draw 2-2 with Athboy Cubs. The scorers were Cillian Shortt & Ciaran McIntosh. In their second game they lost 1-4 to Agher Park. Again Ciaran McIntosh was on target. Paddy Doyle’s U9 Spikes (pictured above) won one and lost one on Saturday. The were beated by Athboy Tigers in their first outing – Jack Dowling was the scorer and the game featured fine displays by Anthony Losty, Adam Cregan & Sean O’Toole. Against Athboy Cubs they won 7-0. The marksmen were Alex Walsh 2, Leon Farmer 2, Jack Dowling 2 & Owen Doyle. Luke Doyle & Christopher McMahon impressed. The U9 Cougars commence their programme next week.

The U8 Pumas enjoyed two fine wins. They thumped the U8 Falcons thanks to goals by Mikey Cullen 4, Zak McGowan 2, Adam Sheehan 2 & Conor Sweeney. Karl Corcoran & Keane Geraghty also impressed. Trim Town/Kilmessan were the victims in their second game as the Pumas ran up another 8 goals without reply. On target were Adam Sheehan 4, Conor Proust 2, Keane Geraghty & Fintan Devlin. Conor Higgins & Pierce Darby also caught the eye. The U8 Falcons beat the U8 Beavers 2-1 in their second game. The sharpshooters were Peter Farrell & Niall Durkan. For the Beavers Conor Rafter & Oisin Martin impressed. Earlier the Beavers defeated Enfield Athletico 3-2 in a close encounter. Alan Monaghan, Aaron Lynch & Michael Mahon hit one each. The U8 Rascals enjoyed a double over Trim Town/Kilmessan. They won 5-0 against the Whites – on target were Mark Donoghue with a hat trick and he was joined on the scoresheet by brothers David & Jason Harper. They defeated the Reds 5-4. This time the scorers were Conor Rattigan 2, David Harper 2 & Mark Donoghue. James O’Neill, Jack Smith, Jamie Kirwan & Danny Morris all impressed on the day. The U8 Rovers had only one game on Saturday and they lost 0-3 to Trim Town/Kilmessan Reds.
