The long awaited saga to decide the runners-up spot in Division 4 North of the Dublin Women’s League finally came to and end this weekend with the news that Monaghan Utd had defeated Parkvilla of Navan in their rescheduled League encounter. The result means that Celtic’s Ladies finished their season in second place as runners up to Drogheda Utd. The rescheduled game was ordered by the FAI after an appeal by Parkvilla against a decision taken by the DWL.
Congratulations are due to Manager Robert Bradley, Captain Celine McLarney and all of the girls who have remained in training and who now look forward to the start of the 2007 season next May.
‘After Christmas the squad will be getting down to do some serious training in pepraration for the new season and we hope to see some new faces amongst the players including maybe a few players back in Celtic colours who lined out in the past’ said Club Secretary Des Clancy upon hearing the news.
