Newtown 0 – 2 Trim Celtic
Halftime: 0 – 1

Trim Celtic’s defence of Sean & James Hyland, Darren Melia & Conor Smith had to play exceptionally well to hold out for this victory. Celtic scored the lead goal in the early minutes of the game with a shot from Conor Smith. Ryan Andrews capped a great 2nd half performance with a well headed goal late in the game much to our relief as we did not otherwise trouble the Newtown goalkeeper in the entire game. This was the teams 15th win & maintains their 100% record in the League so far especially as their closest rivals, Johnstown & Oldcastle shared the points in a 1 – 1 draw.

Parkvilla scored their first as their no.9 ( who was a clear 5 yards offside) lobbed the ball over the head of the advancing Brian Marron. Their second was scored following a corner five minutes after halftime. Dara Scannell was kicked on the shin as he raced through 20 yards out. He scored direct from the resulting freekick. Trim made five more goal chances but unfortunately the score ended 2-1 to Parkvilla. On day that Trim performances dipped, Sean Hyland had a great game at right back, never letting his opponent in.
