21st April 2007 – Tully Park
NECSL Under 12 Cup
Trim Celtic 1 – 2 Athboy
Halftime: 0 – 1
Trim Celtic scorer: Conor Henebery
This was a great game by two very even teams. Twice in a week Trim have not won anything from a cup game, despite giving it everything and playing some fantastic football. There is a saying that football can be a cruel game and on this occasion it was very true. Trim went a goal down in the first half against the run of play, two minutes before half time. Trim came out the blocks and continued to take the game to Athboy in the second half. Eventually Trim got the break through with some fine wing play by Ciaran O’Rourke who beat two players and crossed it into the box for Conor Henebery to drive it into the goal. Trim continued to push for the winner but could not break the Athboy defence down. As the game looked like it was going into extra time, Athboy scored with a 25yard shot which some how sneaked into the bottom corner. There was just time to restart the match when the ref blew for Full Time. The team was shattered after giving it everything, they can be proud of their efforts.

31st March 2007 – Johnstown, Co Meath
NECSL Under 12 Cup Quarter Final
Johnstown 0 – 1 Trim Celtic A.E.T
Fulltime: 0 – 0
Halftime: 0 – 1
Trim Celtic scorer: Colin Stowe
Trim completely controlled this game from start to finish with wave after wave of attack, but some how Johnstown managed to stay in the game. Trim hit the woodwork three times and the Johnstown goal was living a charmed life. At the end of normal time the score remained 0-0. We then headed into extra time, with Trim once again controlling all the play. After 15 minutes of extra time Trim’s pressure at last paid off. From a corner the ball fell to Colin Stowe just outside the box, who took one touch and hit the ball through four defenders legs and some how the ball ended up in the corner of the goal. It was no more than Trim deserved and the now march on into the Semi Finals. Best for Trim Celtic were Colin Stowe, Gareth White and David Buckley

NECSL Under 12 Cup
Navan Town 1 – 5 Trim Celtic
Halftime: 0 – 2
Trim Celtic scorers: Ciaran O’Rourke 3, Malachy Joe Gavin 2
Trim Celtic got off to a great start and should have been one nil up after five mins when Fergus Mulryan broke through and chipped the keeper but was denied by the referee for off side. It was not long after this before Trim got the openening goal with a fantastic long range shot from Ciaran O’Rourke which found the top corner. Trim continued to press and it was long before the pressure paid off again. This time Malachy Joe Gavin let fly with a shot from out side the box which found the top corner. Trim started to play some great football and continued to pressure the Navan goal but could not add any more goals before half time. Trim got off to a slow start in the second half and conceded an early goal to Navan. The come back from Navan was short lived, straight from the kick off Trim restored a two goal advantage with a well worked goal from the half way line which was finished off by Malachy Joe Gavin. In the last ten minutes Trim made the pressure pay and scored another two Goals both by Ciaran O’rourke to complete a fine hatrick. Once again it was a great team performance

Trim took the lead midway through the first half through Ciran O’Rourke.Once Trim scored they just took full control of the game and got a second ten minutes into the second half through Malachy Joe Gavin. This was a real disappointing result for Trim. Trim had a lot of the possession but they could not score a goal. They paid the ultimate price for making two defensive errors. NECSL Under 12 League
Bailieboro 3 – 4 Trim Celtic
Halftime: 1 – 0
Trim Celtic scorers: Patrick Lennon 3, Ciaran O’Rourke
This was a game of two halves. Trim in the first half, never got out of the blocks and went one nil down after twenty minutes. Trim were very fortunate to go in at half time at only one nil down. Straight from the kick off in the second half Bailieboro went further ahead with a well taken goal. At this stage there seemed no way back for Trim. Patrick Lennon came off the bench and was pushed into the attack giving Trim three up front. This really started to pay dividends and the break through came with about fifteen minutes to go with Patrick Lennon running on to a through ball from Malachy-Joe Gavin to finish. Trim Celtic stunned the home side with a flury of goals to lead 2-4.It was a tremendous come back from Trim all ignited by Patrick Lennon who scored a hatrick and capped a fantastic individual performance. Ciaran O’rourke scored his second goal of the season with a well taken strike and also capped an impressive performance. Bailieboro got a late penalty but it was too late to effect the result of this game.Trim showed a fantastic fighting spirit to come back in this game. Best for Trim Celtic were Patrick Lennon, Ciaran O’Rourke and Malachy-Joe Gavin.

Trim Celtic came out of the blocks very quickly and went one up within the first minute of the game. This was achieved by a close range effort from David Fox his first goal of the season. Once that goal went in there was only going to be one winner. However Johnstown tried to keep a lid on Trim’s free flowing football but it was only a matter of time before Trim got a second goal with a well taken finish from Jack Johnston. Johnstown got a goal back before half time against the run of play. In the second half Trim’s strength and skill started to pay dividends with four goals without response. Two from Connor Henebey, who had yet another excellent game, one from Ciran O’Rourke and a second for Jack Johnston. It was a great team effort by all the players who worked very hard for each other.
