In a heartbreaking end of season Cup Final match Trim Celtic under 11’s failed to add the cup to the League and Shield. Starting well the Trim lads got on the attack from the start and saw Jack Byrne being brought down in the box for a penalty only to see the referee award an indirect free kick inside the box. Kells scored the only goal of the half when Trim failed to clear in the 25th minute. Kells went two up early in the second half when a through ball caught the Trim defence out. Trim piled on the pressure for the rest of the match but were only able to convert one from a well taken free kick by Steven Moroney. The last ten minutes saw the Trim lads create numerous chances but were unable to get one past the Kells keeper. This was a game that Trim could have won with all players putting in a tremendous effort but it was not to be. Well done to all players on the squad for their great commitment throughout the season.

In a magnificant game of football Trim Celtic under 11’s defeated Navan Town in the Division 1 Shield final in Claremont Stadium on Friday evening. In a closely contested first half the physically stronger Navan side were unable to compete with the superior skill of the Trim lads.  Trim got their first and only goal of the first half on twenty minutes when Jack Byrne was taken down outside the box and the resulting freekick was expertly dispatched to the net by Steven Moroney. The second came when Jack Byrne latched onto a ball from Neil Sweeney and cooly slotted to the net. Another Jack Byrne goal gave the Trim lads a comfortable three to nil lead. Navan pulled one back late in the half but the Trim team responded immediately to restore their three goal advantage with a fine finish from Steven Moroney. This was an outstanding team performance from the Trim Celtic team with all eleven players excelling. Sean Coloe had an impressive performance yet again in defence with Neil Sweeney being chosen as man of the match for his exploits in midfield. Thank you to the large number of suporters who cheered the team on to victory.

In an exiting Cup semi-final in Tully Park, watched by a large crowd, the Trim Celtic under 11 put on a masterful display of football. Trim took the lead on fifteen minutes when a tremendous strike from all of thirty yards by Fearghal O Hare dipped under the crossbar. The second came two minutes later when a clearance from Craig Fitzgerald found the hardworking Fearghal who sent a perfect ball through for Kevin Nally to finish to the net. The third came before the break from the boot of Jack Byrne who finished expertly to the net. Kevin Nally converted two more in the first fifteen minutes of the second half notching up a superb hat-trick. Neil Sweeney completed the Trim scoring coming in from the left and finishing to the net. This was a tremendous team performance with Cian Downes and Kevin McKeon outstanding in defence, man of the match Fearghal O Hare putting in an impressive performance in midfield and Kevin Nally excelling up front.

Trim Celtic under 11’s ran out comfortable winners in this shield match in Kells on Thursday evening. Leading by a single goal at halftime, courtesy of a fine strike from Jack Byrne, the Trim lads went out and took control of the second half and netted three more from Kevin Nally, Jack Byrne and Steven Moroney. There were fine displays from Sean Coloe in defence, Neil Sweeney in midfield and Jack Byrne up front.

In a very  evenly contested first half the teams went in level with Feargal O hare soring the Trim goal. The Trim lads took control of the second half playing some magnificent football and were rewarded when Jack Byrne volleyed to the net followed by a fine strike from Neil Sweeney to put them three to one ahead. Johnstown pulled one back only to see Trim Celtic respond immediately with goals from Stephen Moroney 2, (1 pen.) and Kevin Nally to run out convincing winners six to two. The Trim lads will face the same opposition in the semi-final of the cup in the coming week. Best for Trim: Robert Bourke, Shane Moore and Sean Coloe.

In this shield match the much stronger Trim Celtic side got on the scoresheet early in the match with goals from Stephen Moroney and Feargal O Hare in the first five minutes. A hat-trick from Jack Byrne and one each from Kevin Nally and Shane Moore saw the Trim lads lead by seven to nil at the break. Trim introduced substitutes Conal McGrenra,Cillian Madden,Aaron Kelly, Conor Fay and Chris O Gara in the second half and went on to score five more goals courtesy of Stephen Moroney, FeargalO Hare, Cillian Madden, Chris O Gara and Aaron Kelly to run out comfortable winners. Having created a number of good scoring chances but with a somewhat slow start the Trim under 11’s went in one to nil down at halftime when Navan Town broke through on the fifteenth minute and converted. The second half saw a much more determined Trim side who equalised on forty minutes when Feargal O Hare got down the right and beat the goalkeeper at the near post from an acute angle. Trim took the lead five minutes later when Steven Moroney took a free kick from the right which was directed to the net by the alert Jack Byrne. However the lead was short lived as Navan Town grabbed an equaliser minutes later with a shot from 30 yards deceiving the Trim keeper. The game went to extra time and a very determined Trim team piled on the pressure and were rewarded when man of the match Feargal O Hare converted in the second period of extra time. Best for Trim: Feargal O Hare, Shane Moore and Sean Coloe.

The much stronger Trim Celtic side had this game well and truly wrapped up in the first half going in at half time with a six to nil lead. The first came on two minutes from a fine strike by Stephen Moroney followed a minute later by a fine individual effort from Neil Sweeney. The third came on seven minutes after some fine play by Kevin Nally who set up Jack Byrne. Further goals from Feargal O Hare, Adrian Maguire and Jack Byrne left the Trim lads in a comfortable position at halftime. Trim introduced all five substitutes in the second half and went on to add three further goals to their tally with Steven Moroney, Kevin Nally and Jack Byrne, completing his hat-trick, finding the net. Trim Celtic under 11’s suffered their first league defeat of the season going down 2 to 1 away to Navan Town. In a keenly contested match Trim took the lead when Aaron Kelly was taken down outside the box and Steven Moroney converted the resulting free with a superb strike to the roof of the net. Navan equalised before halftime before going into a two to one lead ten minutes into the second half. The Trim lads created numerous chances but were unable to convert. Despite the defeat Trim were crowned Division 1 league champions having secured sufficient points in their previous unbeaten run of matches. Trim Celtic captain Steven Moroney accepted the cup on behalf of the team and thanked supporters, mentors, sponsors and players in his well prepared speech. Well done to everyone for their tremendous efforts.

Trim Celtic captured the NECSL under 11 league with a fine win over Johnstown on Saturday. The Trim lads put in a fine performance to come away with a four to nil win where underfoot conditions were very poor. In a very closely contested first half Kevin Nally put the visitors ahead on twenty minutes with a great strike to the net following some good play involving Jack Byrne and Feargal O Hare. Johnstown were denied an equaliser minutes later when goalkeper pulled off a tremendous save. Two minutes into the second half midfielder Stephen Moroney put through a perfect ball for Jack Byrne to finish perfectly to the net. The third came from a fine solo effort from Fearghal O Hare on forty five minutes. Neil Sweeney completed the scoring, slotting past the keeper having being put through by good work from Stephen Moroney and Jack Byrne. This was a tremendous team performance with Cian Downes outstanding in goals and the back four of Shane Moore, Sean Coloe, Kevin McKeon and Craig Fitzgerald ensuring another clean sheet for Trim. Midfielders Stephen Moroney, Fearghal O Hare, Adrian Maguire and Neil Sweeney put in a huge effort to ensure victory. Up front Jack Byrne showed great skill and vision with Kevin Nally and substitute Chris O Gara doing great work. Cillian Madden, Conor Fay  Colm Moriarty, Conal McGrenra and William Corrigan also contributed to a great win. Well done to all players on the panel for their tremendous efforts throughout the season in securing the league title for Trim Celtic.

Trim Celtic under 11’s continued their unbeaten league run with a five to nil victory over Athboy on Saturday in Tully Park. Trim started slowely but after twenty minutes Jack Byrne was taken down in the box after a fine run from the halfway line. Stephen Moroney converted the resulting penalty. Shane Moore got the second five minutes later with a fine strike to the net leaving the Trim lads two to nil up at the break. Trim started the second half putting together some good passing moves involving Stephen Moroney, Feargal O Hare, Neil Sweeney and Jack Byrne. This resulted in two goals early in the half courtesy of Kevin Nally. Neil Sweeney added the fifth to secure the three points for the Trim lads. There were outstanding performances in defence from Sean Coloe, Kevin McKeon and Conor Fay with Adrian Maguire and Feargal O Hare doing well in midfield.

Trim Celtic had this first round NECSL Cup match rapped up in the first five minutes with goals from Jack Byrne 2, Kevin Nally and Stephen Moroney. The much stronger Trim side continued to dominate the first half and added two further goals before halftime courtesy of Sean Coloe, with a tremendous strike from outside the box, and Stephen Moroney. Trim made a number of substitutions during the second half and each performed extremely well with Cillian Madden 2 and Chris O Gara adding to the scoreline giving the Trim lads a comprehensive nine to one win. A tremendous team performance with Kevin McKeon and Conor Fay doing well in defence and Harry Purcell and Neil Sweeney putting in a good performance in midfield.

Trim Celtic started slowly going one down early in the game but gained their composure very quickly and with goals from Jack Byrne 2, Feargal O Hare 2 and Conal McGrenra went in with a comfortable five to one halftime lead. Further goals from Stephen Moroney 2 and Neil Sweeney gave the Trim Celtic boys a comprehensive eight to one win. Substitutes Chris O Gara, Colm Moriarty, Cian Shanley, Conor McKenna and Cillian Madden gave a good account of themselves, Sean Coloe and Craig Fitzgerald were outstanding at the back with Adrian Maguire putting in a tremendous amount of work in midfield.

Jack Byrne opened the scoring when he slotted home Stephen Moroney’s cross. Woodlawn replied immediately to level the score at halftime. Ten minutes into the second half Neil Sweeney and Stephen Moroney combind well to set up Jack Byrne to give Celticthe lead, before he completed his hattrick after good work by Kevin Nally and Harry Purcell. In the final ten minutes Celtic sealed victory with goals from Kevin Nally, Stephen Moroney and Fargal O’Hare. best for Trim Celtic were Sean Coloe and Shane Moore.

Trim Celtic continued their unbeaten league run with an impressive 8 – 0 win over Parkvilla. Leading by six goals at halftime courtesy of a hat-trick from Jack Byrne and one each from Stephen Moroney, Neil Sweeney and Adrian Maguire. The Trim lads continued their dominance in the second half and two further goals from Stephen Moroney and Christopher O’Gara saw tehm run out comfortable winners. This was a tremendous team performance with some great passing moves. There were outstanding performances from Shane Moore and Kevin McKeon in defence with Adrian Maguire putting in a man of the match performance in midfield and Christopher O’Gara competing well up front.

Trim Celtic got of to an impressive start with two goals from the in-form Jack Byrne within the first ten minutes. Johnstown tried to get back into the game with a number of promising attacks but the Trim defence of Craig Fitzgerald, Colm Moriarty, Shane More and Cian Downes were more than capable of dealing with the danger. In the 22nd minute a great through ball from the ever impressive Stephen Moroney found Kevin Nally who slotted coolly past the keeper. Jack Byrne completed his hat-trick before halftime to give Celtic a 4 – 0 halftime lead. Johnstown caught the Trim lads with a quick break in the first minute of the second half to pull one back. The Hoops responded immediately when Fergal O’Hare made a run up the wing beating his marker and finishing well. Further goals from Stephen Moroney and Adrian Maguire saw Trim Celtic run out comfortable winners. This was an excellent team performance from the Trim team with Stephen Moroney, Neil Sweeney and Jack Byrne outstanding.

Trim Celtic under 11’s continued their unbeaten league run with a win over Athboy on Saturday at Drewstown. Trim went two up early in the match when Stephen Moroney fired a powerful shot to the roof of the net after three minutes followed by a second from Feargal O Hare on five minutes after a fine run down the right wing and finishing to the net. Athboy pulled one back after ten minutes only to see Trim responding two minutes later with a well taken goal from Jack Byrne. Athboy managed to break through the Trim defence before the break to leave the scoreline at three to two in favour of Trim at halftime. Athboy dominated the early period of the second half but a resolute Trim defence kept them scoreless with Sean Coloe on his debut for Trim being outstanding. Trim took control of the match in the last fifteen minutes with some superb passages of play leading to goals from Feargal O Hare, Stephen Moroney and two from the hardworking Adrian Maguire in midfield. The influential captain Stephen Moroney almost got his hat-trick when he fired a superb drive from 25 yards only to see it rebounding of the crossbar. The Trim side ran out comfortable winners in the end by seven goals to two. There were fine performances from Sean Coloe in defence with the midfield of Stephen Moroney, Feargal O Hare, Neil Sweeney and Adrian Maguire playing
well.

Trim Celtic under 11’s produced a fine performance to beat Kells away. The Trim side started strongly and were rewarded on fifteen minutes when the quick thinking Kevin Nally took a quick throw in finding Neil Sweeney on the edge of the box who rounded his marker before firing to the roof of the net. Five minutes later it was Kevin Nally’s turn to get on the scoresheet when a fine clearance from Craig Fitzgerald at left back allowed him to break through the Kells defence and finish to the net. Kevin Nally put the Trim side three up with a excellent strike a minute before halftime. The Trim lads found themselves playing against a strong breeze in the second half and were not found wanting in their defensive duties with outstanding performances from Craig Fitzgeraldand Colm Moriarty in defence and Neil Sweeney in midfield. On fifty minutes Adrian Maguire played a lovely through ball for Fearghal O Hare who crossed to find Chris O Gara who sent the keeper the wrong way to score his first goal in the Trim Celtic jersey. Kells got one back from the penalty spot on fifty three minutes to leave the final score at 4 to 1 in favour of Trim. This was a fine team performance from the Trim lads with outstanding performances in goals from Robert Bourke,in midfield from the hardworking and skillful Neil Sweeney and up front from the ever alert Kevin Nally.

Trim Celtic Under 11’s got their cup campaign of to a good start when they travelled to Marino park in Dublin on Sunday to take on local club Marino and secure a comprehensive 7 to 1 victory. Fearghal O Hare got the Trim side of to a great start with a fine run, rounding three Marino players, before finishing well to the corner of the net. The second came from a fine strike by Conal McGrenra from inside the box. Two further goals, one each from Fearghal O Hare and Stephen Moroney, left the Trim side with a comfortable 4 – 0 lead at the break. The Marino side got their only goal of the game early in the second half but the Trim lads replied immediately when Shane Moore found Neil Sweeney on the wing who passed through for Kevin Nally who crossed for Conal McGrenra to slot home his second goal of the match. Two further goals from the hardworking and impressive midfielder Stephen Moroney, giving him his hat-trick, secured a fine victory for Trim. This was a fine team performance by the Trim team with Robert Bourke bringing off some fine saves, Shane Moore and Colm Moriarty outstanding in defence, the midfield of Steven Moroney, Cian Downes, Neil Sweeney and Fearghal O Hare performing well and Conal McGrenra and Kevin Nally working well up front. This was the first competitive eleven a side outing for the Trim Celtic under 11’s at Tully Park on Saturday. Trim dominated the game from the start and went one up early in the first half with a well taken goal from Jack Byrne who followed with a second after a well measured from Stephen Moroney allowed him to beat the offside and cooly slot home in a one on one with the Navan Keeper. Trim continued to apply the pressure in the second half and were rewarded with two further goals from Stephen Moroney and Fearghal O’Hare. Robert Bourke kept his first competitive clean sheet bringing off some good saves when called upon. The defence were solid with an outstanding display from Shane Moore. Some nice footwork was displayed in midfield by Neil Sweeney and Adrian Maguire who made his debut for Trim. Jack Byrne and Kevin Nally worked well up front. Best for Trim Celtic were Shane Moore, Neil Sweeney and Jack Byrne.
