Trim Celtic booked their place in the Cup Semi Final courtesy of a penalty shootout win against Kells Boys. Trailing by a goal at halftime Celtic upped the tempo when Jamie Lee nodded Kenneth Patterson’s free kick down to Keith Earls who lobbed the ball to the net. Celtic were playing well and were rewarded when Jamie Lee put them ahead with fifteen minutes remaining. Kells came back strongly and almost equalised but for a brilliant save from Celtic keeper Dylan Murnin. With five minutes remaining Kells drew level to force extra-time. There were no goals in extra time. Jamie Lee, Kenneth Patterson, Darren Osbourne, and Damien McGee converted while Dylan Murnin saved a Kells penalty. Best for Trim Celtic were Damien McGee, Keith Earls, Jamie Lee and Dylan Murnin

Trim Celtic scorers: Damien McGee 2, Diarmuid Higgins
Trim Celtic twice came from behind to beat Kells Boys 3 – 2. Having concedd a goal in the 35th minute Diarmuid Higgins levelled the score shortly before halftime. Early in the second half Kells again took the lead fom the penalty spot. Trim headeds didn’t drop and Damien McGee brought the scores level again. Ten minutes from time McGee met James Allen’s corner at the near post to give Celtic victory. Best for Trim Celtic were Damien McGee, John Shaw and Diarmuid Higgins.

Trim Celtic 0 – 2 Ferrybank (waterford)
Halftime: 0 – 2
Trim Celtic bowed out of the SFAI Cup at the hands of Waterford side Ferrybank at the MDL Grounds. The visitors took the lead twenty minutes in after a mistake in the Celtic defence. Colm Smith came close to equalising with a shot that went just over the bar. In the 35th minute Ferrybank doubled their lead to give them a 2 – 0 halftime lead. Damien McGee had a chance to bring Celtic back into the game but was twarted by a dubious offside decision. James Allan also went close for Celtic but it wasn’t to be their day. Best for Trim Celtic were Darren Osborne, John Shaw and Damien McGee.

Trim Celtic scorers: Colm Smith, Damien McGee
Trim Celtic started brightly and took the lead through Colm Smith. Bad defending let Albion in to score two quick goals before halfime. Albion scored a third shortly after halftime. Celtic pushed forward and were rewarded when Damien McGee’s goal brought the score to 3 – 2. Celtic searched for an equaliser with Smith, Allan, McGee and Kennedy all coming close. However Albion broke to score a fourth and wrap up the game. Best for Trim Celtic were Damien McGee, Colm Smith and Kenneth Patterson.

Trim Celtic booked their place in the last thirty-two of the SFAI Cup with a convincing win against St Columbans. Celtic pressd forward at every opportunity and in the fifteenth minute James Allan scored his thrid goal in two games to give Celtic the lead. Ten minutes later a free-kick from Kenneth Patterson found James Allan, whose header rebounded off the crossbar with Darren Osbourne on hand to convert. St Columbans upped their tempo in the second half but Colm Smith wrapped the game up ten minutes from time before St Columbans scored an injury time consolation. Best for Trim Celtic were Nigel Kennedy, James Allan and John Shaw.

From the first to the last minute of this game Celtic were in total control as the final scoreline suggests and now look forward to the next round of the Cup. James Allen & Darren Osborne were in top form but they were well supported by the rest of the team especially Jamie Lee & Damien McGee both of whom were called into training recently with the FAI’s Emerging Talent Squads.

Trim Celtic got back to winning ways with a fine victory away to Torro Utd. The first half was tight with both teams coming close without troubling the scoreline.
Celtic changed their team around for the second half with Diarmuid Higgins moving from right back to centre forward where he had the ball in the net within a minute of the restart converting Darren osbourne’s cross. Osbourne then beat a defender before firing past the keeper to double Celic’s lead before Torro pulled a goal back. Darren Osbourne wrapped the game up when he latched onto Keith Earls’ flick on to score. Best for Trim Celtic were Darrn Osbourne, Nigel Kennedy and Diarmuid Higgins.

This was the heaviest defeat suffered by the team for several years when an understrength side travelled to play Kells, without a number of key players. Kells dominated throughout and the situation deteriorated when Sean Curran & keeper Dylan Murnin both had to retire injured. ‘A day best forgotten’ according to manager Shay Lee. This was the first time that this team had failed to score in a game since under 11.

A Sean Foley goal in the first ten minutes of the match was enough to put Trim Celtic into the 4th round of the SFAI Cup. In a well contested game Jamie Lee and Damien McGee showing up well, with Kenneth Patterson, Nigel Kennedy, Sean Curran and John Shaw giving a superb defensive performance to keep Torro out.

A second half hat-trick from team captain Colm Smith and a Diarmuid Higgins goal gave Celtic all three points in this match. The first half was tight with both teams going close without finding the net. Five minutes into the second half Colm Smith opened the scoring. Kingscourt equalised from a corner. This goal stirred Trim Celtic into action with two more Colm Smith goals and one from substitute Diarmuid Higgins combined with a penalty save by keeper Dylan Murnin and a red card for a Kingscourt player gave Celtic victory. Trim Celtic scorers: Keith Earls, Thomas Noone, Darren Osborne & Jamie Lee (penalty).

Having gone a goal down after only five minutes and again shortly before the break Celtic turned this game round thanks mainly to a fine second half display. Keith Earls scored a fine first half goal to level the scores for the first time and shortly after the break it was the turn of Darren Osborne – just on as a substitute, to level with a super strike from the right side. After that Celtic took control and the lead goal was scored by another substitute Thomas Noone. Later Jamie Lee converted from the spot after a foul on Osborne. Other players bto impress were Nigel Kennedy, John Shaw a& Ken neth Patterson. Manager Shay Lee was delighted with the display and now looks forward to the draw for the 3rd round.

Trim Celtic were on top in this game but lost out to a last minute goal. Trailing by a goal at halftime Celtic upped the tempo and equalised with a superb goal from Colm Smith. Celtic had chances to take the lead with Thomas Noone, Jamie Lee and Colm Smith all coming close. The game was heading towards a draw, when in the last minute, the Parkvilla keeper launched a long kick out which went over the heads of the Celtic defence allowing a Parkvilla player to score the winner. Best for Trim Celtic were  James Allen, Diarmuid Higgins, Jamie Lee and Colm Smith.

The U15s were brought ‘back to earth’ with this home defeat in a sporting match played in perfect conditions. Trim took the lead through Darren Osborne after 20 minutes only to concede an equaliser before the break when they seemed to be well in charge. With Sean Curran and Jamie Lee in top form, Celtic started the second period brightly but scorned seveal good chances to take the lead a second time. Damien McGee was impressive in midfield but he was unable to prevent the result slipping away as the visitors scored two late goals to take all three points.

The Club’s U15s got their competitive season off to a flying start with an impressive 4-1 win away to Kingscourt with Colm Smith (2), Scott McGowan & Thomas Noone on his debut for the Club all on target. Playing without regular keeper Dylan Murnin (out because of injury), it was left to centre half Jamie Lee to take up position between the posts and what a fine job he did with a number of top class saves throughout. Celtic were two goals up at the break and were never really troubled in this sporting game. Manager Shay Lee praised all of his boys after the game and picked out Colm Smith, Kenneth Patterson & Diarmuid Higgins for their outstanding displays.

Kenneth Patterson and Keith Earls were both on target in this sporting game against Dunboyne. All of the goals were scored in the second half, with Celtic taking a 2-0 lead only to see the home side draw level late on – which disappointed Manager Shay Lee.
