The action tonight was at Century Homes Park in Monaghan where Robert Bradley’s Ladies took on their National League opponents in Division 4 Nth Intermediate of the Dublin Women’s League and although the perfomance was not as good as Monday night’s at Tully Park, the result was the same -another three valuable points for Celtic in the race to League honours. In truth Celtic fought a rearguard action from start to finish against a much stronger Monaghan side than Monday night’s and the result was not a fair reflection of the play. That said there were a number of sterling performances from the Ladies in defence including that of keeper Celestine Kearney. Others to impress were Janet McElroy and Denise Jackson.

The only goal of the game was a scrambled affair 20 minutes from the end as a result of a rare raid on the home goal by the Royal County Ladies.
