The late Ollie O’Brien, former Player, Committee Member and Team Manager of the Club was remembered today at the Vintage & Veteran Car Rally in Trim when Celtic Schoolboys played out a tournament in brilliant weather to add to a superb day in the Porchies Field. The Cup was awarded to Eoin Sweeney as best overall player on view throughout an entertaining day’s football before parents and friends. Over 30 boys took part and with lots of skills in evidence the future looks bright for the Club! Well done to all concerned -to Robert Bradley (Club Chairman) who prepared the pitch and refereed some of the games and to John Sweeney & Gerry Harte for organising and supervising the boys and most of all to the boys who provided the entertainment.

After the final medals were presented to all of the boys by Vera Ayton and Martina Ashe, sisters of the late Ollie O’Brien. Club Secretary Des Clancy paid tribute to Ollie and expressed the hope that the young players taking part would follow in Ollie’s footsteps as a player and Club member over many years.
