Message of Condolence

The Committee of the Club, on behalf of all of its members would like to convey its sincere condolences to the family of the late Lesley Geraghty who passed away last Thursday. Adrian Geraghty is Manager of the Club’s U8 Pumas and to Adrian and all of the Geraghty family we send our condolences and support at this time of loss.

Lesley Geraghty followed the fortunes of the Club’s younger teams and was especially interested in the U8 Pumas. Shortly before her passing she expressed the hope that the the Pumas would win the MDL U8 Mini League in which they had competed since September and sure enough they did just that after a thrilling game in which they defeated Parkvilla 4-3 after extra time. Adrian & his players have dedicated the win to Lesley’s memory.

May she Rest in Peace.

Paul Campbell (pictured) was the marksman. This was the second time that the Seniors have come out on top against Bellurgan in recent times. Last year they beat the Co. MDL Car Draw

The Club would like to express its thanks to all who supported its participation in the MDL Annual Car Draw – a valuable source of revenue for the Club every year. We are endebted to all of our sellers especially loyal supporters outside the Club and to the usual regular sellers amongst the Club’s membership. Indeed everyone who sold or bought tickets.

Thank you very much. We hope that this year will see one of the cars on offer coming to Trim!

SFAI Cup Draw Update

The Club 15s and 13s are still competing their respect National Cups and the draw was recently made for the next rounds of each.

The 13s are already through to the last 32 where they will meet Lagan Harps or Dungloe Town in Tully Park. The latter contested last year’s U12 Norton Cup Final. Nick Nally will be hoping his team go a step further at least than last year when they advanced to the last 16.

The 15s still await the outcome of the Maynooth Town/St. Columbans tie. A re-fixture was ordered by the SFAI but this was subject to the right of appeal which means that Shay Lee’s lads may not line out until late in January. If they do get through they will face the winners of Ferrybank (Waterford) or Evergreen (Kilkenny) – again in Tully Park, for a place in the last 16.

Reserve Game Abandoned

Yesterday’s Reserve Team game away to Carrick was abandoned because of failing light as a result of a long delay for the treatment of an injury to Celtic player Damien Dempsey. Damien suffered a knee injury which required removal to hospital and the game was held up for over half an hour for an ambulance to arrive. Celtic were losing 0-2 at the time and a decision will be made by the MDL on the outcome.

Today’s Senior Team game against Navan Cosmos could not be transferred to the MDL and was postponed to a later date.
