The Club’s Senior Team drew 1-1 away to Carrick Rovers today thanks to a Derek Donohoe goal. The bad news for Celtic was that Dromin and Rock both won although Glenmuir suffered a defeat.

In the only schoolboy game played today, the U13s won through to the next round of the SFAI Cup after a 5-0 drubbing of visitors Drumlin Yths from Co. Monaghan. On target were Gavin Mullen (2), Robert Sweeney, Rian Wogan & Joey Corrigan.

In addition to the other postponements announced last night, the U14 game was also called off because of an unplayable pitch.

Mick Craig’s Third Team defeated Castle Villa 4-1 in the B Reserve Division of the MDL at Tully Park today. On target were John Pedan, Paul Genocky, Matthew Scanlon & Ciaran Quinn who scored direct from a corner.

Luke Dempsey travelled to Slane with the Reserves and saw his lads hand out a comprehensive beating to the home side thanks to goals by Nicky Maxwell (2), John Bligh & Gavin Meehan.

Tomorrow’s schoolboy programme has been seriously disrupted and only two of the scheduled six games have not been postponed at this time.

• The U15 SFAI match against Maynooth Town has been called off because a protest in relation to result in the last round.
• The U 11 SFAI Cup match away to Drogheda Town has fallen foul of the weather.
• The U16 League game away to Kells has been called off because of a clash with the 3rd team at Tully Park.
• The U12 League game away to Navan Town has also fallen foul of the weather.

The SFAI Cup matches will be re-scheduled for next week. They take priority over NECSL games.

A pitch inspection will take place tomorrow morning to decide if Tully Park can stage the U 13 SFAI Cup match against Drumlin Youths from Monaghan and the 3rd Team game in the B Reserve Division of the MDL.

The Club’s Third Team travelled to play Skryne/Tara yesterday and came home with a very satisfying MDL B Reserve Division point after a 3-3 draw. On target were Michael Tyndall, Matthew Scanlon & Stephen Ennis.

In the only game played today the U13s were defeated 3-1 away to Kingscourt.

The U16 game away to Athboy was postponed.

All of tomorrow’s scheduled games at Tully Park have been called off because of the heavy rain over the last few days.

In addition the Senior Team game on Sunday has also been called off as a mark of respect to the Corrigan family. Michael Corrigan is the Club’s Senior Team captain.

The U11s became the third Celtic team to advance to the 4th roiund of their SFAI National Cup after a storming 6-1 win over Dublin side Woodlawn in Dublin this morning. On target were Jack Byrne with another hat trick, Stephen Moroney, Fearghal O’Hare & Kevin Nally.
