Ladies Finish in Style

Celtic’s Ladies defeated Ratoath Harps by a score of 8-2 in Ratoath last night to complete their League programme this summer. On target were Avril McGowan (5), Sabrina Gibney and Celine McLarney (pictured below). This result may be enough to secure the runner-up spot in the Inter 4 North Division of the Dublin Womens League, depending on whether an appeal by Parkvilla in relation to an unplayed match against Monaghan Utd is successful. If so and if Parkvilla were to win the refixed game then a play off for the runner-up spot would take place between the two Co. Meath sides.

The Club would like to congratulate Drogheda Utd who finished clear winners in this year’s League campaign.

Twenty Three This Year!

No this is not the age of the Club but the number of teams that will line out regularly this season for the Club in the local Leagues!

‘Following yesterday’s successful enrolment session at Tully Park for new Schoolboy Seven-a-Side players and assuming that our Youths are allowed enter the MDL as a Third Team, the Club will see no fewer than 23 teams line out this year’, Club Secretary Des Clancy (pictured below) is pleased to announce.

‘Three Adult Men’s teams will line out in the Meath & District League; the Ladies are currently playing in the Dublin Women’s League; we will have six teams in the NECSL from Under 11 to 16 inclusive and a further 13 teams playing Seven-a-Side in the NECSL from Under 8 to 10 inclusive. And we have a great team of energetic managers in charge of these teams.’

‘Trim Celtic is one of Co. Meath’s foremost community sporting Clubs and we are delighted to respond to the ever increasing popularity of the game by running new teams. However we badly need another pitch to cater for the explosion of interest and we are actively looking around at the present time. So if anyone can make us an offer we would be delighted to sit down and talk. We have ambitious plans for the development of Tully Park but we really need more space.’
