The Club’s Ladies travelled to Dundalk this evening to find that the home Club could not field their Second string and accordingly the points will be awarded to Robert Bradley’s team. They did play a challenge game against Dundalk’s Senior side and lost 0-3 in Oriel Park.

Manager Alan Kirwan now knows that his new Premier Division season in the MDL will kick off on 13th August in Tully Park at home to Ardee Celtic. He will be mindful of the fact that last season his side took only one point from the two League encounters between the Clubs -that was in a 2-2 draw at home to the Co. Louth side and he will be determined to get off to a good start by taking all three points against the first visitors of the season to Tully Park.

The Club Seniors travelled to Agher today to take on Agher Park in a pres-season friendly and emerged 3-2 winners having trailed 0-2 at the break against an impressive Agher side missing several key players. Celtic’s first half display may give manager Alan Kirwan some concern although the second half performance was quite impressive. This was a useful workout for both sides. This week the Club staged its annual Flag day appeal and once again the people of Trim responded in the most generous way possible. Club Secretary Des Clancy – ‘The Club relies on this annual exercise for vital early season income and to make contact with new families to the town whose children wish to start playing football and what a success it has been. I continue to be impressed by the all round generosity of the people on the street and on behalf of all our Members especially the younger ones I want to sincerely thank everyone who contributed.’

The kick off time of Sunday’s game against Agher Park has been brought forward to 12 noon.

This year was the third year for a Real Soccer Summer Camp to be staged at Tully Park and what a success it proved to be. A total of 87 youngstares from 8 to 15 years old took part in the event and they were supervised for the week by a number of highly qualified coaches, all of whom expressed great satisfaction with the condition of the playing surface at Tully Park for the week.

The Club Committee, on behalf of all Members and Supporters wishes to express its deep sympathy with the family of the later Paul Quinn, who died tragically this week. Our thoughts are with his family.

The Club Ladies recorded another win this evening in the Dublin Women’s League, when they travelled to Collon to take on Albion Rovers. Avril McGowan 2, Michelle Nugent 2 and Sabrina Gibney were all on target in a 5-0 win.
