Trim Celtic advanced to the last sixteen of the Leinster Junior Cup with a comfortable victory of Rock Celtic. Trim opened the scoring on the half hour mark when a Clayton Keegan converted Noel Payne’s pass from eighteen yards.
Keeper Tony McDonnell (pictured above) had a fine game making a string of good saves to keep Rock out. With fifteen minutes remaining the impressive Shane Ashe won a penalty which was converted by Noel Payne. Trim were reduced to ten men with the dismissal of Seamus Harte.
