The Committee of the Club was delighted to hear the news this week that
Jamie Lee has been called up for the regional International Trials by
Republic of Ireland manager Vincent Butler. This follows Jamie’s
inpressive displays for the NECSL in this year’s Kennedy Cup in
Limerick. This is wonderful news also for Jamie’s father Shay who has
now taken over the stewardship of the Club’s under 14 team in
succession to Finian O’Connor. We are also delighted to announce that
former player David O’Connor (son of Finian), now with Belvedere, has
also been called to the regional International Trials. Congratulations
to both boys. We wish them both every success and we hope that they go
on to follow in the footsteps of previous Celtic players who wore the
famous green shirt – Brendan Murphy, Tim Clancy, Derek Donohoe, Paul
Rispin and Lynn Winters.
