Biggest influence on career
My parents – always getting behind me 100% of the way, and Sarah always buying me new boots every season.
Probably this season against Rock Celtic when we beat them 5-0, I took a long range shot from the right hand side just past the half way line, great goal, also scored a header in that game too! The team that day was: Tony McDonnell, Ciaran Rispin, Tom Boyle, John Kelly, Danny Quinn, Stephen Jones, Noel Payne, Colm Harte, Steven Ennis, me and Clayton Keegan.
Or else it’d be another long range effort against Duleek (2004-2005 season) when we drew with them 2-2, Dhal scored the first goal, and I scored to get the draw. The team that day was: Tom Barry, David Campbell, Tommy Boyle, Fergus Fagan, Andy Reilly, me, Mark Scanlon, Jonathon Connolly, Ross Campbell, Brian Quinn and Patrick Conway.
Has to be the Challenge Cup final (2000/01), the biggest game I’ve ever played in – I came on as a sub midway through the second half and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Game you’d rather forget
Not a game I’ve played in but its probably the FA Cup Final 2005, Man Utd V Arsenal – we were robbed!
Are you superstitious?
No not really – but if I play well in a match I try to do the same before the next game.
