The Clubs annual senior presentation night for the 2004/5
season took place in the Emmet Tavern on Friday night 10th June attended
by a very large crowd of Club members and supporters. Club Secretary Des
Clancy was MC for the night and in his welcome he reminded everyone of the
significant role played by Dr. John (Jack) Brody and Bernard Barry whose
Petpetual Cups were presented to the First and Second Team Players of the
Year respectively. He also recorded the thanks of the Committee for the
impressive work done by all Team Managers during the year. In addition he
asked all members and supporters to remember two former members who passed
away during the year – Frank ‘Scobie’ Melia and Ollie O’Brien.

Other presentations on the night were for Clubman of the Year (Clancy
Perpetual Cup), Leading Senior Scorer and Under 17 Player of the Year.
David Conway was top scorer having topped the scoring chart again this
season and Manager Alan Kirwan reminded everyone that David passed the 100
senior competitive goals milestone during the year gone by.
T. J. Garry was selected by Mick Craig as Under 17 Player of the Year
and along with his team mates he received his NECSL League Winners medals.
Clubman of the Year was Mick Craig himself and he was presented with the
Clancy Cup by Peggy Clancy.
Second Team Manager Alan McCormack paid handsome tribute to his players
for their efforts during the year before he announced the latest name to
be engraved on the Bernard Barry Cup -that of Ross Campbell. The trophy
was presented by former player and Committee member John Barry.
The main event of the night saw David Fagan become the 30th
recipient of the Brody Perpetual Cup which was presented by Club Chairman
Ciaran Gaughran.
David distinguished himself during the most eventful year gone by for the
First Team during which they reached the last 16 of the FAI Junior Cup going
on to finish as runners-up in the Premier Division of the Meath and District
League. Manager Alan Kirwan thanked his players for their efforts through
a long but very successful season and he expressed the hope that next season
the Club Firsts can go one better by finishing in the winners enclosure.
All in all a a most enjoyable highlight of the Clubs social calendar.

The Club’s Schoolboy Player of the Year Presentation function takes place
on Saturday evening 25th June.
