A terrible second half performance cost Trim Celtic all three points against Kells boys. Kells took the lead in the first half but Aaron Newman equalised to make it 1 – 1 at the break. Trim Celtic collapsed in the second half conceding three bad goals and creating little.

Best for Trim Celtic were Aaron Newman, Mark Corrigan and Colm Doyle.

Trim Celtic 10 – 1 East Meath Utd

Trim Celtic scorers: Sean Foley 2, David O’Connor 2, Conor Daly 2, Ryan Andrews, Darren Melia, Diarmuid Higgins, Colm Smith

Trim Celtic qualified for the Shield semi-final with a comprehensive win over East Meath Utd. Sean Foley started the scoring spree with two goals in the opening ten minutes, Before halftime David O’Connor and Diarmuid Higgins added two more goals. In the second half Conor Brady scored his first two goal for the club closely followed by his second. Ryan Andrews David O’Connor, Darren Melia and Colm Smith added a goal each to bring Celtic into double figures.

Best for Trim Celtic were Jonathan Shaw, Niall Farrell and Sean Foley.
