Trim Celtic 1 – 1 Carrick Rovers

Halftime: 0 – 0

Trim Celtic scorer: David Conway

In what was a scoreless first half Trim Celtic should have scored on three occasions with Shane Ashe & David Conway shooting wide and Paul Bartley forcing a good save from the Carrick keeper. Right on the stroke of halftime Carrick almost stle the lead but for an excelent saving tackle from Dominic Martin.

In the second half Carrick improved going forward and caught Celtic on the break to take the lead. Celtic upped the tempo and Shane Ashe and David Conway brought fine saves out of the Carrick keeper. Celtic equalised when David Conway headed home Paul Campbell’s free-kick. Both sides then attacked and counter attacked with Mick Martin saving Celtic on a number of occassions, while his opposite number kept Celtic out. With time running out Celtic piled on the pressure with the last chance of the game falling to Paul Campbell but his lob drifted over the bar.

Best for Trim Celtic were Mick Martin, David Fagan and Keith Jones
