A missed penalty in the first half cost Trim Celtic dearly while other chances also went a begging. Gary Scully scored Trim Celtic’s only goal.

Kentstown Rovers 1 – 1 Trim Celtic A.E.T

Kentstown won 5 – 4 on pens

Trim Celtic suffered a heart breaking defeat at the hands of Kentstown in a nail biting penalty shoot-out. Trailing one nil at halftime Celtic battled back with Alan Douglas equalising with a fine strike and indeed Douglas was unlucky not to win the game for Celtic when he hit the crossbar late on. Celtic also had goalkeeper Eric Scanlon to thank for a string of excellent saves to keep them in the match. Kentstown went on to win the penalty shoot-out in sudden death.

Best for Trim Celtic were Eric Scanlon, Ciaran Joyce and Barry Flynn.

Trim Celtic scorers: Colm Smith 2, Jamie Lee,

In an entertaining game Trim Celtic won by the odd goal in five. Jamie Lee opened the scoring with his first goal of the season with Grove equalising before the break. Two second half goals from Colm Smith were enough to help Celtic come out on top despite a second goal from Grove.

Best for Trim Celtic were Colm Smith, Jamie Lee and Diarmuid Higgins.
