Trim Celtic made the running in the first half and were disappointed to go into the break level. Teenager Craig O’Hanlon put the home side in front with a superb shot from the edge of the box. Ross Campbell came close on several occasions and O’Hanlon rattled the post with a second strike from the edge of the box before Dromin equalised.
In the second half Celtic took the lead when Ross Campbell scored in his seventh consecutive Reserve game with a superb free kick. With the game poised at 2 -1 Trim Celtic goalkeeper made some exceptional saves to keep Celtic ahead. Celtic’s scored a third goal when David Campbell’s header rebounded off the crossbar with Johnny Connolly on hand to poke home from close range. However Dromin were not finished and pulled a goal back after sustained pressure courtesy of an own goal. With only minutes remaining Celtic substitute John Kane made his presence felt in a fifty-fifty clash with the goalkeeper with Mark Scanlon chipping home the breaking ball from the edge of the box.
