Trim Celtic scorers: Shane Ashe, Paul Bartley, David Conway

Trim Celtic crashed out of the Challenge Cup at the MDL grounds. Marsh squandered two good chances before Trim Celtic took the lead when Shane Ashe finished well at the second attempt after a good run. With their next attack Marsh equalised and shocked the Trim side by taking the lead before the break. Early in the second half Trim Celtic began to up their tempo and levelled when Paul Bartley finished from a corner. David Conway then put Trim 3 - 2 up when he blocked down a defensive clearance, rounded the last defender and fired past the advancing keeper. However Marsh fought back strongly and equalised again. With the game heading for extra-time Marsh grabbed a late goal which proved to be the winner.

Best for Trim Celtic were Noel Payne, Paul Campbell and Shane Ashe

Trim Celtic 5 - 1 Navan Town

Trim Celtic scorers: Mark Perle 2, Gary Scully, Aaron Scallon, Caolan Young

Trim Celtic missed a first half penalty but still managed to score five times in the second half. The game was very tight at 1 -1 and could have gone either way but two goals from Mark Perle gave Trim Celtic the upper hand.

Best for Trim Celtic were Mark Perle, Caolan Young and Richie O’Brien.

Trim Celtic scorer: James Moynihan

A draw was a fair result in this tight top of the table clash. Kingscourt took the lead against the run of play midway through the first half but Trim Celtic battled back and equalised through James Moynihan’s fine feft footed goal after good work with Anthony Craig.

Trim Celtic 0 - 1 Kingscourt

Halftime: 0 - 0

Trim Celtic were caught with a sucker punch when Kingscourt stole all three points with a last minute goal direct from a free kick. Kingscourt had the better of the opening half and struck the psot in this period. In the second half Trim Celtic made the running with jamie Lee hitting the post and Colm Smith twice forcing the keeper into good saves. Celtic were made to pay for missed these opportunites as Kingscourt came up with the winner as the game was looking likely to be drawn.

Best for Trim Celtic were Sean Foley, Diarmuid Higgins, Jamie Lee and Colm Smith

The Pumas showed what can be achieved when you play with commitment, full concentration and a great team spirit. Captain Jack McGowan led by example by scoring the game’s only goal..

Message of Condolence

Message of Condolence

At the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Club held on Wednesday 17th February, a message of sympathy was recorded following the death of Willie Lane, a supporter of the Club for many years. We send our sincere condolences to the members of the Campbell, Lane, Murray, Commons and Halligan families.

May he rest in peace.

Paul O’Keane steps down

The Committee of the Club would like to express its thanks to Paul O’Keane for his time and effort in looking after the Under 12’s since the start of
the season. Because of family commitments it is necessary for Paul to stand down. At the same time we would like to wish the new Manger, John Marron the best of luck. John will be supported by Brendan McGrenra.

Trim Celtic scorers: Ross Campbell 2, Aidan Leonard

After a shock early Summerhill goal Trim Celtic fought back well under difficult conditions to take a commanding 3-1 lead with two goals from in-form Ross Campbell and one from Aidan Leonard. However basic errors and an eagerness to push forward allowed Summerhill to get back in the game and level at 3 - 3.
No further goals in extra time meant the game went to penalties where Summerhill advanced despite two penalty saves from Tom Barry and penalty conversions by Ross Campbell, Johnny Connolly and Tommy Boyle.

Best for Trim Celtic were Tom Barry, Gordon Flood and Ross Campbell.

Halftime: 2 - 2
Trim Celtic scorers: Craig O’Hanlon 3, David O’Donoghue
This was a marvellous Cup Semi-Final with plenty of action. Carrick took the lead but Craig O’Hanlon levelled. Carrick again took the lead after some poor Celtic defending but David O’Donoghue equalised just before halftime.
Soon after the break Carrick took the lead for a third time and later went on to score again to make it 4 - 2. Trim Celtic battled back with two goals from Craig O’Hanlon who completed his hattrick but Carrick snatched victory at the death with a late goal to advance to the final.

This was an excellent game that was scoreless with ten minutes to go. Two goals in the last minute ensured the scoreline flattered the home side.

Trim Celtic hit double figures after a fine performance against Athboy. Celtic lead by 3 goals to 2 at halftime but dominated the second half to romp to a 10 - 3 victory in an excellent team performance with goals coming from Alan Douglas 4, Aaron Newman 2, Andrew Coogan, Colm Doyle, Anthony Craig and Mark Corrigan.

Best for Trim Celtic were Alan Douglas, Mark Corrigan and Paul Carroll.

Trim Celtic scorers: Colm Smith 2, Sean Foley, Darren Melia

Trim Celtic continued their recent good form with a comprehensive win over Borora in Castlevilla. This was their third away win in a row as they continue their push up the table. Colm Smith put Celtic ahead following a good cross from Ross Mooney. Darren Melia made it two with a tidy finish from a David O’Connor corner. Colm Smith then grabbed his second following a goalkeeping error. Just on halftime Sean Foley scored the best goal of the game with a beautiful lob.

In the second half Celtic took their foot off the gas a little and Borora scored a late consolation from the penalty spot.

The Pumas played with pure determination throughout this game and came back well to earn a draw. Jack Dowling and Jack McGowan put in excellent performances as did Fintan McLaughlin who added another goal to his tally for the season.

This was always going to be a tough fixture for the Pumas but they played with great heart. The extra experience of the Raptors was clear to see however the Pumas will have taken a lot from the game.
