Schoolboy Presentation Night

Last Saturday night was a special one on the calendar of Trim Celtic when the Club staged its annual Schoolboy Presentation function in the Church of Ireland Diocesan Hall before a very large attendance of young players and parents.

Player of the Year Awards were made to no fewer than 13 different player who distinguished themselves last season by their performances on and off the field for their respective teams. Each Manager introduced his own selected player -in each case a guarded secret right up to the announcement. Generous tributes were paid to all of those nominated as follows:

U-16: Mark Perle
U-10 Lions: James Toher

U-15: Ciaran O’Duillerga
U-10 Tigers: Sean Fitzgerald

U-14: Alan Douglas
U-9 Tigers: Colin Keane

U-13: Michael Lydon
U-9 Panthers: Paul Lynch

U-12: Jamie Lee
U-8 Raptors: Kyle Dixon

U-11 Gladiators: Jason Alexander
U-8 Eagles: Peter Gavin

U-11 Crusaders: Sean Spratt

The overall Player of the Year selected to receive the Noel Dempsey Perpetual Cup was Alan Douglas – a very popular choice and a most worthy
winner. Minister Dempsey was in attendance to present his cup to Alan and the Club is very grateful for his continued support. Alan’s is the latest in a line of distinguished local players to have their names engraved on the cup.
Club teams that won local honours were also acknowledged. Some other special awards were made also.
MC for the night was Club Joint Treasurer Des Clancy and he was assisted by Chairman Ciaran Gaughran and Secretary Mark Scanlon.

The Club is most grateful to Dean Robert Jones for the use once again of the Diocesan Hall.
