Under 8’s, 9’s, and 10’s enjoy Athboy Super Sevens week-end

Trim Celtic Sevens entered three representative teams at U8, U9 and U10 age groups for the Athboy Super Sevens last week-end.

The under 8’s won the cup in a tough final with Torro, which ended up 2 – 0 with great goals from Calum Pottinger and Aaron Lynch.
Team line-up: Luke Crimmins, Cian Lee, Ian Fox, Padraig Costello, Luke Mahon, Luke Walsh- Byrne, Alex Dunne, Calum Pottinger, Aaron Lynch.

The under 9’s had a great semi final result 5 – 0 but were unluckey in the finals of the shield, where Clon Mahon got the better of them.
Team line-up:- Karl Keating, Jack Smith, Ethan Foley, Brian Dowling, Shane Curran, Cian Walsh, Gavin Griffith Kelly, Liam Brodrick, Pierce Darby, Mark Shelly.

The under 10’s missed out in the shield in what was a thrilling final game. Trim were under major pressure at half time 3 -0, but came out fighting and managed to pull two goals back. However they ran out of time dispite hitting the crossbar and a near miss on goals.
Team line-up:- Scot O’Leary, Luke Clohisey, Aaron Byas, Ben Harrison, Gerard Dwane, Niall Durkin, Peter Farrell, Eric Rispin, Conor Smith, Lee Corcoran

Under 8’s take on the Under 9’s in Tully Park

Representative teams from the under 8’s and under 9’s were in action in a friendly game at Tully park on Thursday 4th June. The game took place in glorious sunshine with ideal pitch conditions.
It was a very entertaining game with both teams trading goals from set play. It was a great opportunity for both teams to play on grass, which will give the under 9’s valuable experience for the new season. Players adopted very well to taking throw-ins, and corner kicks in an open playing field.

U11 girls have convincing win over Albion Rovers

AlbionRovers2
The Diamonds were under pressure from the kick off, as Albion took control of the game. They went one goal up after 10 minutes. Despite sustained pressure Trim managed to keep it 1 – O at half time, thanks to some terrific saves from Ciara Hanson.
In the second half Trim really turned the game around with the Troy sisters on target. Amy scored after four minutes, followed by a well taken goal from Rachel. Albion’s fate was sealed with a terrific strike by Amy into the top right hand corner of the net. Final score Trim 3 Albion Rovers 1. Line up for Trim, Ciara Hanson (Captian), Karley Leavy, Amy Troy (2), Roisin Milner, Caoimhe Shelly, Rachel Troy (1), Dearbhla Milner
